Display Timestamps

Print this Topic Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Your timestamps display the project you worked on, the from and till time as well as the comment you entered and the calculated price. You can either have the time run automatically or enter the times manually. That's your decision. You can group and filter these timestamps by right-clicking on them. Further down in this chapter, we explain, how to create a report of the timestamps.

timestamps

Point to View -> Timestamps in order to display them horizontally or vertically.

Horizontally the timestamps are below the project list:

And vertically they are on the right side. In this screenshot we've closed the activity report, as we are not planning on working with it:

What's the difference between the comments on the timestamps and the history? The comments on the timestamps are always linked to this specific timestamp of the project. History entries are linked to the projects, but not linked to timestamps. Therefore you have to decide what to use. If you need documentation of exactly what you did at what time, you need to use the comments on the timestamps. Otherwise, like if you work for a client that received a fixed price for the project, then you could use the history, as there's no exact documentation of each timestamp required.

If you right-click in the area of the timestamps or the history entries, than you find a context menu with the options to edit, delete or print the entries.

The green bar on the left hand side shows you, if you are missing any timestamps or not. If the end time of a timestamp matches the start time of the next timestamp the bar will be green. If not, there'll be a white area between the stamps.

If you have entered a timestamp for the wrong project and you need to transfer it to another project. You can now easily do that by dragging & dropping the timestamp on the correct project.

You can print various reports from within your Xpert-Timer. Here are some examples. There are a lot more, so just take the time and try the different filter options.

Report of projects, grouped by date

If you need a report, sorted by projects with the project times ordered by date, this is what you need to do:

1. Choose the date range

2. Group by project

3. Right-click on the column header in order to hide or show certain columns

4. Hide the comments, but show the prices

This is your report:
