Please go to Configuration -> User management or Edit -> User configuration in the Single User version to assign the synchronization module to certain users.

The function of the synchronization module is based on the timestamp of the projects. Therefore it is neccessary to set all computer times to the same minute. Make sure there is no descrepancy larger than one or two minutes.

As soon as you activate the synchronization file, the existing Access database on your laptop or U3-Stick will be deleted.

Working with the synchronization module

The function of the synchronization module is based on the timestamp of the projects. Therefore it is neccessary to set all computer times to the same minute. Make sure there is no descrepancy larger than one or two minutes.

You've got a new menu item in your project manager now. Point to "Program" in order to synchronize your database and the main server database.

Synchronize in any case right after you have activated the synchronization in order to get all neccessary access rights and projects.

After you hit "Synchronize database ..." you will get following dialog:

Time period If you choose "7 days", then all entries and changes that were made within those 7 days will be compared to the entries on the laptop or U3-Stick.
If you synchronize daily, you can set the time period to 1 day. If you work for yourself, you can choose "to the second" as there is no other person to change data in the database.
Client This is the list and number of data, that was changed in the time period.
Server

This is the list and number of data that was changed on the main server database within the chosen time period.

Database connection Double check your database connection here.
Click on this button to change the settings of the database.
Click on this button to test the database connection.

As soon as you hit "Synchronise", you will be asked to confirm again.

Don't be surprised if you see hundreds of data entries that need to be synchronized. Remember that every change in the Xpert-Timer is documented in the database, so the amout adds up easily within a time period of 7 days.

The last dialog that pops up is the confirmation of how many files were synchronized.
